Mindful Money has operated as a charitable trust since 2019 with the goals of increasing awareness of ethical investing in New Zealand. They do this in a number of ways, the key at this stage is through the free to access consumer website at www.mindfulmoney.nz, and they are building on this by targetting influencers. The Mindful Money Awards and Conference were launched in 2021 as a cornerstone platform for this education and recognise leaders in KiwiSaver, retail funds management, media, impact investing and financial advice.
Mindful Money are Moneyworks key research provider for the negative screening data from which we build our clients ethical investment portfolios, and as such, it is important to us that they are robust and have longevity. To support the organisation, Moneyworks supported the Mindful Money Awards and Conference in 2021 and again in 2022 as as sponsor. Carey also assisted as a volunteer judge on one of the Awards judging panels.
The event is a great opportunity for networking and celebrating with the ethical investing community, and we were thrilled that two of our core (and highly regarded) fund managers were recognised as leaders. The Harbour Sustainable Impact Fund received a Highly Commended Award in the Best New Ethical Fund of the year.
Pathfinder - who are a leader in this community were awarded the Best KiwiSaver Provider, the Best Retail Investment Provider and John Berry received the Best Media Reporting Award.
We congratulate Peter Lee (winner) and Rodger Spiller (highly commended and 2021 winner) who were recognised as leading Ethical Financial Advisers. Moneyworks were not ready to enter this year, but hopefully we can enter next year and learn from that experience and get suggestions to improve our business and offering.
Congratulations to all the winners, well done.
